South Sangatta, On Tuesday September 17th 2024. Watching the spirit of humanity burning in the courtyard of SDN 001 South Sangatta. Twenty young members of the Youth Red Cross society (PMR) lined up neatly, like little soldiers ready to go to carry out a ceremony of PMI’s 79th anniversary.
The ceremony to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Indonesian Red Cross was solemn. The Principal, Mr.Syamsudin MS, S. Pd., and the PMR Supervisor, Mr. Agus Sultonik, M. Pd., was also present to provide encouragement. The beautiful dance performed by the students seemed to unravel the threads of love, dancing along with the rhythm of life. The first aid simulation is presented like a short drama that makes us aware of the importance of help in critical times.
This ceremony was attended by several schools of various levels, creating beautiful harmony. It is as if these hundreds of students are musical notes that come together in a symphony of humanity. Mr. Wilhelmus Wio Doi, SE, as Secretary of PMI Kutim Regency, as the ceremony supervisor, provided encouragement and motivation to the participants. The places are full of white and red colors. He stands tall like a lighthouse guiding small ships towards the humanitarian port. His loud voice cut through the air, inspiring young souls to continue working in the vortex of humanity.
It is not only SDN 001 South Sangatta that is infected with this humanitarian fever. Like a giant magnet, the PMI 79th anniversary celebration attracted 41 schools from all over East Kutai. Six elementary schools were present with blazing enthusiasm, 20 middle schools brought blazing passion, while 15 high schools flew the flag of unwavering pride.
That day, GOR Kudungga was not just a sports hall. It has become a silent witness to how the spirit of humanity flows like a river that never dries up, nurturing young souls to continue serving others. PMI is no longer just an organization, but has become the heart that continues to beat in the chests of young volunteers, ready to give the breath of life to those in need
the sunrises getting high, the celebration of PMI’s 79th anniversary is not just celebrating age, but also celebrating the timeless spirit of humanity, which will continue to echo in every corner of East Kutai, inspiring generation after generation to continue to be a light in the darkness.
